Instructions to Referees In ENY Regarding Head Injuries/Concussions —
For ALL ENYYSA (youth) games, the following is the directive effective 1/1/2016:
Whenever a player's head is injured, regardless of whether the collision was with an opponent, a teammate, or an object on the field such as a goal post, the safety of that player is of prime concern. There is no higher priority. Any youth player who is suspected of sustaining a concussion or head injury in a game shall be immediately removed from the game and may not return. The player's pass will be retained by the referee and submitted with the game report.
Supplemental report will note: “Player removed from game due to possible head injury and was not allowed to return. Player pass attached to report.”
